Hey Schwäbisch Hall!

Schwäbisch Hall offers an impressive medieval townscape with its partially preserved city wall, covered wooden bridges, numerous towers, a multitude of stairways and unchanged alleys. In the old salt-boiling town, salt used to be boiled from the brine of the Haal spring, which could only be done by those authorized to do so – the salt boilers.

“Freilichtspiele” in Schwäbisch Hall are the second oldest open-air theatre in Germany. They belong to the "Ten German Festival Locations" association. The aim of this association is to impress with sophisticated productions in the open air. The performances take place on the 54 steps of the staircase of St. Michael's Church.
Schwäbisch Hall is also known for the largest building society in Germany, which bears the name of the tranquil little town.
